  • Light and Salvation

    Bible quotes 15Psalm 27 : 1

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

  • Hunger and Poverty Gain Prominence

Hunger 1Millions of Nigerians are complaining of hunger and poverty which has taken root nationwide.
The insecurity in the land has disabled the proactiveness of farmers in different parts of the country, while political office holders have been overwhelmed by their pecuniary and self-centered interests. State actors insist that about 6 million farmers have benefited from the agricultural subsidy of the government, but the prohibitive cost of food items punctures this claim.
For a considerable period of time now, the import of agricultural products has far outweighed exports, confirming the insinuation that state actors are insincere and economical with the true situation of things in the agricultural sector.

  • The Transient Nature of Power

Pope 1State Actors have decided to fund the cattle ranching project in Katsina state with 6.25 Billion  Naira while simultaneously promoting discord and disunity in several other states through their insistence on the open grazing initiative. It is deliberate.
However, the time is too short to implement and see to fruition all the contents of the script which includes 3 percent for oil-producing areas and 30 percent for the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) to explore crude oil in the non-oil producing areas.
The desperation revolves around the realization that POWER is transient, nothing lasts forever and that Trust and accountability are no longer some of the key objectives of state actors.

  • The Way to Heaven and the Way to Hell by Prof.Sabitu Olagoke

ProfLife is but a double-edged sword, where the truth is bitter because people are not ready to sacrifice pleasure so that others live comfortably due to the poisonous syndrome of metaphoric bile in the sack of ego-centeredness.

When you see people accepting their faults to make corrections for positive change it is because they love to take the bitter capsule of the truth even when it is not sugar-coated because they love to live exemplary lifestyles without any stain on their white cloth.

However, the other edge of the sword is that of work without pleasure which must be taken hook, line, and sinker in order to live well.

This is a part of taking due process in rising to stardom, but when people find it difficult to achieve, they seek fora shortcut to engage in sharp practices through taking to the path of falsehood and other diabolical means.

Human beings, generally have to realize the need to acknowledge and take to the golden rules of the law-penal code or sharia to meet up with the vision of God on the creation of which each of us is infinitesimal in size and number for us to be considered important or been above the law driven by the design of God, the almighty Allah.

    H and h 1

The Holy Quran 2: 201-202 refers,'' And there are men who say: Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the hereafter and save us from the torment of the fire to these will be allotted what they have earned and Allah is quick in account.''

To strike a balance, therefore, it is necessary to go the way of God in our pursuit of acquiring wealth to keep the body and soul together, otherwise may end up in sins and crimes to lose heaven which is more important not only to the soul but to the entire reasons for existence.

The Holy Bible Matthew 5: 13-14harpsonthe issue of the way to heaven and the way to hell, '' 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.''

Only a few people find that road(while living in the material world of temptations and survival).

The wide road of sins and crimes is aptly described in 1Corinthians 6: 9-10, Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

The best references to this will be found in Matthew 5: 17-19,'' 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever, therefore, shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

From the classical example of how the holy Prophet Mohammed was able to make it become a perfect example for mankind, we can equally source our strength to overcome the temptations in the world

of materialism in which we live.

The best of our reference is in the Holy Quran 6: 162-163, Say(and follow): Truly, my prayer and my service of sacrifice, my life, and my death, are all for Allah, the Cherisher of the world. No partner hath

He: This am I commanded and I am the first of those who submit to His will(through body preservation from sins and crimes by following the rule of law or sharia and soul purification from devilish thought processes upholding truth even against all odds in acts, deeds, words, and thoughts to be wholesome always).''

Let us all follow the noble path of honor rather than the disgraceful path of perdition.

Heaven must be preferred to the bottomless pit which is hell.

  • Leaders are Selling off Nigeria-Ex-Officio TUC

    • On 08/07/2021
    • In News

DebtThe decision of the National Assembly to jettison the probe on loans obtained by the Federal Government and the approval for the collection of more loans confirms the suspicion that the Executive and Legislature have a grand plan to sell off Nigeria.
This assertion was made by an Ex-Officio of the Oyo State Council of the  Trade Union Congress(TUC), who is also a former chairman of the union in the state, Comrade Andrew Eemlieze.
''The decision of the lawmakers not to go on with the probe of the loans collected by the Federal Government from China and the approval of more loans by both chambers of the National Assembly has confirmed the suspicion of Nigerians that the Executive and the legislature have started implementing their desperate plans to sell off Nigeria. This is very unfortunate and ridiculous. Nigerians should prevail on the government not to collect additional loans and to ensure that the loans collected so far are repaid before the tenure of the present administration lapses,'' Comrade Emelieze stated.

  • The Hard Drugs-Declare State of Emergency-NGO to President Weah

    • On 01/07/2021
    • In News

Liberia President, George Weah has been called upon to declare a national emergency on the trafficking and use of hard drugs.

This call was made recently by the Executive Director of a Non-Governmental Organization(NGO), Hope for Young People Inc, Ambassador Thomas Tamba Bundoo Ambassador Bundoo made the call during the launch of the report of a survey conducted by the NGO on drug addiction in Liberia, as part of activities in marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. “As the Executive Director, I cannot keep sitting and seeing my fellow young compatriots dying the way they are dying and my country losing manpower to drug addiction. In view of the above, I am kindly calling on the President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E Dr. George Manneh Weah to declare Drug Addiction as a National Emergency to help mitigate the proliferation of illicit drugs in Liberia and save the younger generation from losing their potential.”

“It is very saddening and frustrating to see the bodies of young people lying in the streets every time in the name of criminals, even though at times there is no substantial evidence to substantiate those allegations in the court of competent jurisdiction, while other young people are losing their potentials to a drug, getting wayward and many others liabilities on society,”

“Drug Abuse is gradually taking over the youthful population of Liberia, in every community and street corner there are ghettos and in every ghetto, there is a youth who is claiming to be Five Star or CEO.''

“Mothers are having restless time running from one prayer band to another to find solutions to their children’s drug addiction problem. It seems like those who are in authority do not care and are concerned about finding a solution to this silent enemy called drugs. If nothing is done to mitigate the proliferation in the use of illicit drugs in the country, I foresee a Liberia that will be very ungovernable in the not too distant future because of the insecurity that an illicit drug poses on the state and its people,'' Ambassador Bundoo stated.

  • The Dignity of Labor By Prof Sabitu Olagoke

ProfThe dignity of labor is divine for human sustenance. Every creature has a license to the physiological needs for the upkeep of an individual on earth. For the early part of the individual's life, the individual would be dependent on others, most especially parents.

For the purpose of sufficiency, material resources ought to be evenly distributed to those who may need them to avoid inequality that may bring about insecurity for the purpose of survival among the people. Common senes dictate that needs must be sourced through legitimate means, not to become a victim of the law that regulates human affairs, since stealing, armed robbery, cheating on others, and other criminal acts are not only anti-divine but deviant also if the societal norms on the scale of justice, sins and crimes. Transfer Money with Wise

    Di

Putting up god work attitude with the spirit of working harder to meet up with the emerging demands and responsibilities without violating the golden rule of the dignity of labor is, therefore, sacrosanct.

The Holy Quran 11: 6 refers, '' There is no moving creature on earth, but its sustenance dependent on Allah: They knoweth its resting place and its temporary deposit: all is in a clear record.'' This statement implies that every stage of human creation and life cycle would become a rival material of destiny and destination importance starting from the gestation period, child-rearing, and natural nurturing of the cradle/adolescence stage to the ultimate period of adulthood. Ecclesiastes 5: 18-20 in the Holy Bible states ''Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.

19Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him the power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.

20For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.''

For these verses, one must realize that the dignity of labor is divine, and through it only can God give a man the necessary tranquility of the mind.

Living beyond one's means is an invitation to chaos! We must all realize, according to the Holy Quran 13: 26 that ''Allah doth enlarge or grant by strict measure the Sustenance which He giveth to whom He pleaseth.......''

Avoid pursuing your goals through blatant impunity.

Let us enjoy the toil and the fruits of our labor through the due process of the fear of God in our daily activities.
