Develop the potentials of young Nigerians-Prof, Olagoke

Download 2 2Parents and guardians are very worried that their children and wards are no longer exhibiting tendencies that will positively impact the economy.

Social vices, deviant behavior, and immorality are now the indicators in different parts of the country.

To this extent, the founder, spiritual head, and Gand Imam and spiritual head of Shafaudeen Worldwide, Prof. Sabitu Olagoke, passionately appealed to the federal government to identify and develop the skills of young Nigerians to ensure the revival of the country's economy.

Prof. Olagoke made this appeal on Tuesday in a paper titled ''BURY NOT THE TALENTS OF OUR CHILDREN'' at the Shafaudeen 2025 INTERDISCIPLINARY PLENARY SESSION in Ibadan, Nigeria.

''The federal government must create an enabling environment for skills development for our children to be able to compete in the competitive global market. The age of Prof. Sabur at 19, Dorothy Jan at 17 for Ph.D., and Ester Okade Ph.D. at 16 has shown that resilient Nigerian children can achieve so high if we embrace their talents to aim for greatness regardless of our age—young or old. Let us work towards the UN definition of sustainable development as a function of good governance without compromising the abilities of the young people to develop at their own pace.''
